Details of the application

Canal and River Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Lune catchment.

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 60.7 litres per second
  • 200 cubic metres an hour
  • 3,820 cubic metres a day
  • 311,390 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid Reference SD 46980 54553
  • from abstraction location River Conder at Conder Feeder, Galgate, Lancashire.

The water will be used for transfer for the purpose of navigation authority operations.
