The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 (that does not involve substantial change) from Advantage Biogas Limited.

Regulated facility type

Dryholme Biogas AD Facility is a wet mesophyllic Anaerobic Digestion facility operating under permit number EB3800HM as a waste operation due to its current capacity. A major refurbishment of the site will change the permit requirements of the site from a waste operation to an Installation under Activity: 5.4 A(1)(b)(i) – non-hazardous with a capacity exceeding 100 tonnes per day (recovery only). Following the refurbishment the operation will increase capacity to process up to 50,000 tonnes of feedstocks a year with a daily feedstock processing rate of up to 137 tonnes of feedstocks a day. Feedstocks utilised at the site will be a mixture of non-waste energy crops, liquid or solid by-products (non-waste), solid manures, and other liquid/pumpable wastes.
