Brett Aggregates Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the North Essex catchment.

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 300 litres per second
  • 1,080 cubic metres an hour
  • 25,920 cubic metres a day
  • 9,460,800 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • Within the areas within the following National Grid References (NGRs) TM 07024 18417, TM 07263 18627, TM 07389 18464, TM 07349 18226 and TM 07394 18161, TM 07639 18094, TM 07540 17768, TM 07212 17840
  • from abstraction location Brightlingsea Quarry, Essex.

The water will be used for Transfer for the purpose of Dewatering.
