Breedon Trading Limited : application made to abstract water

Breedon Trading Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from groundwater consisting of superficial sands and gravels at North Cave Quarry, North Cave, East Yorkshire from two areas. The first abstraction will be from an area defined by straight lines running between the following National Grid References (NGR’s) :- SE 88390 32584, SE 88448 32204, SE 88246 32126 and SE 88158 32532 for the purpose of transferring without intervening use to a groundwater fed lagoon defined by straight lines running between the following NGR’s :- SE 87997 32361, SE 88031 32278, SE 87738 32125 and SE 87602 32330 at North Cave Quarry, North Cave, East Yorkshire.
The second abstraction will be from an area defined by straight lines running between the following NGR’s :- SE 89160 31328, SE 89557 30738, SE 88649 30994 and SE 88613 31236 for the purpose of transferring without intervening use to groundwater fed lagoons defined by straight lines running between the following National Grid References:- SE 89038 31548, SE 89371 31071, SE 88049 30942 and SE 87856 31556 at North Cave Quarry, North Cave, East Yorkshire.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 232 cubic metres an hour
- 5,568 cubic metres a day
- 2,032,320 cubic metres a year
- all year.
The purpose of this water transfer activity will be dewatering.
