Details of the application

Breedon Southern Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Idle and Torne catchment.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 151 litres per second
  • 540 cubic metres an hour
  • 5,130 cubic metres a day
  • 1,282,500 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid References SE 65140 07946, SE 65975 07775, SE 65450 07203, and SE 64998 07473
  • from abstraction location Sand and Gravel Superficial deposit.

The water will be used for mineral washing.
