Details

The claimant alleged that the union breached its rules in relation to the election of its General Secretary following the resignation of the previous General Secretary in April 2005. The Assistant Certification Officer upheld the complaint. He found it was not appropriate to issue an enforcement order on the union as the union had, following its procedures, amended the rule at its Congress in June 2005.
