Details of the application
The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from F M CONWAY LIMITED.

Regulated facility type
The application is for a Road Planings Storage and Recycling Facility to be located at Plots 6 & 7, North Quay, Newhaven, BN9 0AB.
• Non-hazardous asphalt road planings is proposed to be stored and treated by crushing and / or screening to produce Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) as a waste activity.
• Road planings containing coal tar is proposed to be temporarily stored undercover before being transported off Site for recovery or disposal only under a Section 5.6 Part A(1)(a) Installation activity
• The asphalt plant will continue to operate under the existing Part B permit.
