Where
Blakes Lock
Details
An Environment Agency diving contractor will be carrying out a survey of the lock chamber.
It is proposed to carry out two dives; one at the upstream end of the chamber and one on the downstream end of the chamber.
Divers will be in the chamber for up to 45 minutes for each individual dive to allow them time to safely enter the water, carry out an inspection and then return the lock side.
Boaters will be asked to wait while the dive inspections are carried out. Boats will be allowed to pass through the lock when the divers are not in the water and waiting times should be no longer than 45 minutes.
The diving team will be supported by land-based vehicles and will not have any construction plant, for example barges, in the river or the lock.
The Environment Agency apologise for any inconvenience these works cause and thank you for your patience during this time.
