Bithia Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from Blackwater (Yare) near Cranworth, Watton within Norwich, Norfolk at National Grid References A – TF 94122 06407 and B – TF 98555 03871.
The application is to abstract water respectively as follows:
Point A
- 43 cubic metres an hour
- 1,036 cubic metres a day
- 60,000 cubic metres a year
Point B
- 144 cubic metres an hour
- 3,456 cubic metres a day
- 175,000 cubic metres a year
Water would be abstracted between November and March for storage for spray irrigation of crops.
