Details of the application

Birdsall Estates Company Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 2/27/27/116 which authorises the abstraction of water from Menethorpe Beck, Tributary of the River Derwent at National Grid References SE 81342 63580, SE 81220 63722 and SE 82190 63530. The water is used for the purpose of domestic supply, both commercial and non commercial, as well as animal watering and welfare.

The variation applied for is to increase the annual abstraction quantity to 48,378 cubic metres per year, and the daily quantity to 154 cubic metres during winter (November to March inclusive) and 123 cubic metres during summer (April to October inclusive).
