Regional Project Funding

The High Commission provides assistance to small non-recurrent projects in Fiji, Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Republic of Marshall Islands,Tonga and Tuvalu.

Details

Projects must be in support of the High Commission objectives where they complement and reinforce our work across the Pacific. We are particularly interested in innovative project suggestions in the following areas:

Prevention and Resolution of Conflict:

Some examples would be:

  • reduce the risk of new conflict through post-conflict resolution

  • promote multi-racial unity

  • support interfaith activities

  • good citizenship

  • strengthen civil society.

Good Governance:

Some examples would be:

  • democracy building

  • constitutional reform

  • support for justice and the rule of law

  • support and promotion of human rights (gender equality, access to education, and essential amenities, women’s rights, rights of the child, freedom of religion and freedom of religion and freedom of the press).

Climate and environment:

Some examples would be:

  • environmental awareness

  • conservation

  • energy efficiencies

  • protection of native flora and fauna

  • combating effects of climate change.
