Bicycles imported from Sri Lanka (Anti-Dumping Duty 2374)

Published 17 December 2019

Following judgements of the Court of Justice the Commission has advised by Regulation 2019/1997 OJ ref. L310, that it is re-opening the anti-circumvention investigation concerning imports of bicycles and other cycles (including delivery tricycles but excluding unicycles), not motorised, consigned (directly or indirectly), from Sri Lanka, whether or not declared as originating in that country. The scope of the investigation is limited to correcting the irregularity identified by the Court in case C-251/18 Trace Sport SAS.

Customs authorities will make imports of the product subject to registration for a period of 9 months from 3 December 2019.

Registration allows the Commission to backdate duty at the end of the investigation, if appropriate.

Customs authorities must await the outcome of the investigation before deciding on any claims for repayment and remission of the duties concerned by this regulation.

This regulation takes effect from 3 December 2019.

The commodity codes of the product concerned are:

  • 8712 0030 10
  • 8712 0070 91
