The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Perenco UK Limited.
Environmental permit for onshore oil and gas exploratory operations

Variations to existing permitted activities to include:
Section 1.1 Part B (a) (iii) Addition of Part B activity: combustion of gas in turbines under 50 MW thermal input
Section 1.1 Part B (a) Change odourising gas to a Part B activity.
Section 5.1 Part A(1) (a) Addition of flaring as a waste incineration plant with a capacity exceeding 10 tonnes per day.
Section 5.3 Part A (1) (a) (ii) Addition of a hazardous waste treatment by system 63 as physio-chemical treatment for recovery greater than 10 tonnes per day.
Variation of Category A mining waste facility to remove some of the currently authorised wastes permitted for disposal.
Addition of groundwater activities to cover produced water re-injection, and well stimulation activities.
