Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from the River Thames at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 36279 00711 at Hinton Waldrist, Oxfordshire to transfer it to the River Thames at NGR SP 36436 00418 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 3,603.40 cubic metres an hour
- 86,486.40 cubic metres a day
- 23,336,640.00 cubic metres a year
- all year.
The purpose of this abstraction is to provide a natural fish passage around Shifford Weir.
