This covers former staff at Senior Civil Service payband 1 (SCS1) and payband 2 (SCS2) levels. It also covers special advisers of equivalent level.

Department’s decision on application (including details of any waiting period or other conditions or restrictions applied) For two years from his last day of service, Mr Copley must seek confirmation from the Department that each individual consultancy commission is permissible under the terms of his consultancy before taking it up. If, after enquiry, the Department takes the view that a new commission is, or may be, outside the terms of the consultancy he will be expected to submit a fresh application. After leaving BEIS, Mr Copley should not draw on privileged information available to him from his time in Crown Service. As Mr Copley’s role is likely to include interaction with ministers and government officials on matters relating to sustainable energy markets as part of developing relationships, it should only be related to the work of EFET on matters aligned with government policy.
