Transparency information about outside appointments or employment taken up by former members of the the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
This covers former staff at Senior Civil Service payband 1 (SCS1) and payband 2 (SCS2) levels. It also covers special advisers of equivalent level.

Department’s decision on application (including details of any waiting period or other conditions or restrictions applied) | The application is approved with the following condition: - Mr Betts should not draw on privileged information available to you from his time in Crown Service; and - For 2 years from his last day of service, Mr Betts should not become personally involved in lobbying the UK government on behalf of his new company or its employers/clients. This does, however, not prohibit him from contacting the department as part of his day to day relationships with BEIS. - For 2 years from his last day of service, Mr Betts must seek confirmation from the department that each individual commission is permissible under the terms of his consultancy before taking it up. If, after enquiry, the department takes the view that a commission is, or may be, outside the terms of the consultancy Mr Betts will be expected to submit a fresh application. |
