Bayston Farms: application made to abstract water

Bayston Farms has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract (take) water from a reach of Beck Drain from National Grid References SE 58361 23416 to SE 58768 23227.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 18 cubic metres an hour
- 432 cubic metres a day
- 40,000 cubic metres a year
Between 1 January and 31 December inclusive in each year
The water will be used for storage and subsequent spray irrigation.
The proposed abstraction lies in the Aire and Calder Catchment Abstraction Management Strategy reporting area.
