Bawtry Farms Limitied has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).
The application is to vary existing licence serial number 03/28/77/0043 which authorises the abstraction of water from the Sherwood Sandstone at the former Harworth Colliery, Bawtry, from three boreholes at National Grid References SK 63969 91214, SK 63967 91212 and SK 64014 91175.
The variation applied for is:

Abstraction purposes changed from coal industry activities and private water undertaking to spray irrigation and filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation

Abstraction period changed from all year to 1 April to 31 October inclusive

Abstraction quantities to be reduced from 8,565 cubic metres a day and 561,000 cubic metres a year to 7,800 cubic metres a day and 300,000 cubic metres a year

The applicant has also requested a quantity of 364 cubic metres per hour (there is no hourly limit on the existing licence)
The existing Licence Holder has applied to transfer licence serial number 03/28/77/0043 to Bawtry Farms Limited prior to the proposed variation as part of a water rights trade.
