BAM Nuttall Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from underground strata for the purpose of dewatering between National Grid References: TG40384 01170, TG40398 01175, TG40410 01144 and TG40393 01141 at Norton Pumping Station to transfer it to the River Yare at National Grid Reference TG 40395 01175 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 216 cubic metres an hour
  • 5,184 cubic metres a day
  • 326,592 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 January and 31 December 2024.
