Association of Chief Police Officers: Home Office funding

Updated 30 October 2013

FOI release 25826

  1. The Home Office provided grant-in-aid funding to ACPO HQ until December 2012 and has now ceased making that payment. The total grant-in-aid funding for 2012 to 2013 was £562,000. In addition, the Home Office has made regular payments to ACPO to fund a number of specific projects or in support of key initiatives, such as UK disaster victim identification.

  2. ACPO also received funding from the former police authorities, which were abolished following the election of police and crime commissioners (PCCs) on 15 November 2012. Whether individual PCCs wish to make contributions to fund ACPO is a matter for them.
