The fifth ASEAN-UK Post Ministerial Conference (PMC) took place in Manila, the Philippines, on 22 July 2026. UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband represented the UK and marked five years of the UK’s Dialogue Partnership with ASEAN.
The meeting welcomed the significant progress made in implementing the first plan of action and agreed the second plan of action between ASEAN and the UK for 2027-2031. The new plan of action reflects a deeper focus on mutually beneficial ASEAN and UK priorities encompassing political, security, economic and global issues.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was founded in 1967. It is a group of 11 countries: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Timor-Leste.
