Arabella Binney has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from an underground strata (Unconfined Chalk) at Pampisford Hall, Cambridge at National Grid Reference TL 50932 48450.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 19 cubic metres an hour
- 219 cubic metres a day
- 52,800 cubic metres a year
- At an instantaneous rate not exceeding 5.1 litres per second.
- All year.
Abstraction will be from a 125 millimetre diameter borehole.
The water will be used for an open loop ground source heating system before being returned to the re-injection borehole at National Grid Reference TL 50934 48503.
