Environment Agency waterways: applying for the Anglian Pass (01 April 2026 to 31 March 2027)

Details

The Anglian Pass allows unrestricted 1 year visitor access to the navigations of the:

  • Environment Agency
  • Middle Level Commissioners
  • Conservators of the River Cam

It runs from 01 April to the following 31 March.

It covers the:

  • Environment Agency’s River Nene and River Great Ouse system
  • navigations of the Middle Level
  • River Cam navigation

We advise you check river conditions and lock availability before purchasing your Pass.

Use this form to register a boat for the Anglian Pass for the first time if you:

  • are an annual registration or licence holder with the Middle Level Commissioners or Conservators of the River Cam
  • have a Gold Licence with the Canal and River Trust

You must ensure you have a valid annual boat registration or licence for the term of the Pass, or your Pass may be revoked. This will mean your boat will be considered unregistered.  For example, Gold Licence holders must renew their annual registration in January for the Pass to be valid to the end of March.

You can find the Anglian Pass charge on Anglian waterways: boat registration and other charges

You can call us and pay by credit/debit card on 0330 159 1983 if you:

  • already hold a full annual Environment Agency Waterways boat registration for Anglian Waterways
  • have previously purchased an Anglian Pass

When you have registered, the Environment Agency will send you a registration plate to display on your boat.

Before you start

You need to know the:

  • boat name
  • boat registration number (stays the same each year)
  • current registration or licence number for the season you are applying for
  • boat length and beam
  • approximate year the boat was built
  • boat engine details
