Details

Use this form to apply to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to:

  • apply to become an authorised examiner (AE) - a sole trader, partnership or limited company authorised to run an MOT test station
  • tell DVSA about a change in your details or circumstances
  • change your AE designated manager (the person in charge of MOT testing in your business)
  • apply to set up a new MOT test station
  • apply to take on an existing MOT test station
  • make a change to a current MOT test station, including changing classes of vehicle it can test, or changing test equipment

How to apply

  1. Download and fill in the application form. Depending on your business and what you’re applying to do, you might need to download and fill in the extra declaration sheets. The guidance notes explain what to do.

  2. Save the application forms on your computer.

  3. Email the forms to motadministration@dvsa.gov.uk. You need to attach any documents to support your application. The form and guidance notes tell you what documents to include.

You can also post the form and documents to DVSA.
