Details of the application

Anglian Water Services Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).

The application is to vary licence serial number 7/34/09/*G/0091 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata at two source works at National Grid References TG 38 19 and TG 34 27.

The variation applied for is:

  • An additional source works at National Grid Reference TG 33 30, for up to 995,000 cubic metres per year at a rate of 2,728 cubic metres per day (daily aggregated with an existing source works at TG 34 27).

  • An additional aggregate condition - The aggregate quantity of water authorised to be abstracted under the terms of this licence (7/34/09/G/0091) and Abstraction Point 2 under the terms of licence 7/34/08/G/0093 shall not exceed 2,000,000 cubic metres per year.

  • An additional aggregate condition - The aggregated quantity of water authorised to be abstracted under the terms of this licence (7/34/09/G/0091) and licences 7/3/4/08/G/0093, 7/34/06/*G/0165 and AN/034/0006/0024, shall not exceed 5,000,000 cubic metres per year.

These variations are currently licensed and effective until 31 March 2018, this application is to renew these variations without change.
