This inspection examined the process through which individual cases are referred to the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Chief Caseworker Unit (CCU) and sought to assess the effectiveness of the referral process itself, including:

• the identification of systemic issues
• CCU’s approach to engagement
• CCU’s levels of capacity, resourcing and resilience
