This inspection examined asylum decision making since the Nationality and Borders Act 2022 was introduced. It looked at how the Act was implemented, whether the Home Office had adequate resources and staff were sufficiently trained to make effective decisions, and the impact of new workflow and case progression processes that were introduced to address delays and clear the initial decision backlog.
