Aluminium extrusions from China (anti-dumping duty 2423)

The Commission, in Implementing Regulation 2020/1215 OJ ref. L275, has made imports of aluminium extrusions, from the People’s Republic of China, subject to registration for a period of nine months.

This regulation takes effect from 25 August 2020.

Product description

Anti-dumping duty 2423 relates to:

  • bars, rod, profiles (whether or not hollow), tubes, or pipes
  • unassembled products
  • prepared or unprepared products for use in structures (for example, cut-to-length, drilled, bent, chamfered, threaded)
  • products made from aluminium, whether or not alloyed, containing not more than 99.3% of aluminium

Products excluded

The following products are excluded:

  • products attached (for example, by welding or fasteners) to form subassemblies

  • welded tubes and pipes

  • products in a packaged kit with the necessary parts to assemble a finished product without further finishing or fabrication of the parts (‘finished goods kit’)

This registration enables the Commission to apply anti-dumping duty retrospectively to imports during the registration period once the anti-dumping investigation has concluded.

The amount of possible future liability can be estimated at the level of the dumping margin alleged in the complaint, up to 37 % on the Cost, Insurance and Freight (CIF) import value of the product concerned.

Interested parties are invited by the Commission to make their views known in writing, to provide supporting evidence or to request to be heard, within 21 days from the date of publication of this Regulations.
