     Updated the background information and methodology to support the latest release of Alternative Claimant Count statistics. These has been released today (13 October 2020).

     Updated the background information and methodology - it now includes information about 'working and claiming unemployment related benefits' in the definitions and terminology section. The latest release of Alternative Claimant Count statistics has been released today (16 July 2020).

     Revised version, updated to support the latest release of Alternative Claimant Count statistics (published on 21 January 2020). Information has been added about revisions to the statistics and that the release includes statistics for Northern Ireland for the first time.

     Updated with information about new statistics on monthly flows onto and from the claimant count.

     Revised version, updated to support the latest release of Alternative Claimant Count statistics (published on 16 July 2019). Information has been added about seasonal adjustment of the figures.

     Revised version, updated to support the latest release of Alternative Claimant Count statistics (published on 16 April 2019). Information has been added about a revision to the number of people on Universal Credit for the period January 2016 to November 2018. This has resulted in a revision to the Alternative Claimant Count statistics covering the same period. The revised document also includes a new image, this shows who is included in the Alternative Claimant Count.
