The spreadsheet contains estimates on the number of adults who are dependent on alcohol in each local authority in England.
The data is from national and local authorities, and is organised by age and gender. Estimates are based on the 2014 Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey.
The prevalence, trends and amenability to treatment report published by the University of Sheffield provides analysis and commentary on the estimates.
Health commissioners can use this resource to:
- estimate the number of alcohol-dependant adults in their area, and the number of adults that need specialist treatment
- plan and improve alcohol treatment services
