Aggregate Industries UK Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a transfer licence to abstract water from sands and gravels at Bar Pastures, Eye, Peterborough from an area indicated by National Grid References TF 24633 03006, TF 24441 02278, TF 24957 02125 and TF 25319 02813.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 220 cubic metres an hour
- 2,640 cubic metres a day
- 686,400 cubic metres a year
- at an instantaneous rate of 60.5 litres per second.
The application is for the purpose of dewatering. The process is non-consumptive and all the water abstracted will be discharged to the Cat’s Water at National Grid Reference TF 24545 02355.
