Medicinal treatment services for weight loss – December 2025

Published 9 January 2026

The following companies have amended their advertising following MHRA action on complaints to ensure that Prescription-Only Medicines (POMs) for weight loss (including reference to the class of medicines called GLP-1s, or to “weight loss injections” or similar) are not promoted to the public. Advertising Regulations prohibit the publishing of an advertisement to the public that is likely to lead to the use of a POM.

  • Bolt Healthcare Ltd t/a Bolt Pharmacy
  • MedEazy Ltd
  • SwiftDoctor Ltd

MHRA also received a complaint about advertisement of POMs for weight loss by Juniper Technologies UK Ltd (t/a Juniper). After carefully reviewing the company’s response to the complaint and considering the available facts on their own merits against the MHRA Blue Guide, the MHRA decided not to uphold the complaint. However, in light of the complaint, the company acknowledged some areas of their website could be improved and they committed to do a review to help ensure greater clarity of information.

The information on this page relates to specific advertising action taken on a particular date and is no endorsement of ongoing practices.

You can see details of MHRA guidance for providers that offer medicinal treatment services in Appendix 6 of the MHRA Blue Guide.
