These reports support the operational risk analysis in the consultation on the Airport Commission’s shortlisted options for additional airport capacity.

LeighFisher’s reports for each of the 3 shortlisted proposals look at the ability of each proposal to adapt to adverse events including:

  • severe weather
  • utility outages
  • terrorism

The ‘Airspace resilience’ report by NATS considers the impact each scheme could have upon the UK airspace system’s ability to react to major disruptive events.
