Guidance to help local authorities understand the benefits of active travel and how to promote it in local communities.

Includes advice on how local authorities can work with local government associations to:

  • develop Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIPs)
  • develop and implement Travel Demand Management Plans
  • plan for and improve active travel infrastructure
  • promote behaviour change to enable active travel
