1. Request
Can the department disclose whether all the academies that have been operational since 01 September 2009 are now subject to Freedom of Information? Are multi-sponsors academies like ULT, ARK and E-ACT are subject to Freedom of Information?
2. Release
The department can confirm that academies, by virtue of the Academies Act 2010, are subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This already applies to schools that have become academies since September 2010, and will apply to all academies from January 2011.
