Details

Closure of a 100-metre section of the layby for the construction and loading of floating pontoons.

Directions for navigation and general information during this event:

  • this restriction is for works to be taken in the loading and construction of a floating structure. These works are required to support the activities on the main line railway at Nuneham Viaduct.

  • during this time there will be a restricted layby access on the head layby. Caution should be taken by boat masters when travelling in this area. Masters should take note of any instructions given by staff as to navigation past this point. The restriction also impacts on the land side, and safety staff will also be posted for visitor safety and instruction.

  • a pontoon will be moved into position after construction and will proceed upstream on 27th April.

  • boat masters should listen for mooring and lock guidance from safety crew and operation lock and weir keeper.

  • this construction will be dependent on the current river conditions.
