A L Lee Farming Company: application made to abstract water

A L Lee Farming Company has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The first application is to vary licence serial number 6/33/39/*S/0302/R01 which authorises the abstraction of water from the South Level System at Burnt Fen Internal Drainage Board (IDB) and Mildenhall IDB.
The second application is to vary licence serial number 6/33/36/*S/0217 which authorises the abstraction of water from the South Level System at Littleport & Downham IDB, Burnt Fen IDB, Padnal & Waterden IDB and Middle Fen & Mere IDB.
Both licences allow for the abstraction of water in the winter period for reservoir storage and the subsequent transfer of water through the drainage networks for re-abstraction from abstraction reaches in the summer. This is all contained within the South Level System. All re-abstracted water must be supported by stored reservoir water released on the same day, leaving no effective net impact on drain levels in the summer months.
The variation to licence serial number 6/33/39/*S/0302/R01 applied for is: for the addition of trickle irrigation as a licensed purpose, the correction in grid references to existing abstraction reaches, transfer points and discharge points and the inclusion of 83 new abstraction reaches (all within Burnt Fen IDB and Mildenhall IDB).
The variation to licence serial number 6/33/36/*S/0217 applied for is: for the renewal of the licence expiring on 31 March 2021, with the addition of trickle irrigation as a licensed purpose, the correction in grid references to existing abstraction reaches, transfer points and discharge points and the inclusion of 205 new abstraction reaches (78 in Littleport & Downham IDB, 14 in Burnt Fen IDB, 19 in Padnal & Waterden IDB, 9 in Middle Fen & Mere IDB, 44 in Southery & District IDB and 41 in Mildenhall IDB).
