A B Cave (Nurseries) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract (take) water from three un-named drains near Tilney All Saints, Norfolk, totalling 45,452 cubic metres per year. The National Grid References for the three points are: Point A: TF 55922 17943; Point B: TF 56261 18297 and Point C: TF 55967 17619.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • Point A: 3.8 cubic metres per hour; 91 cubic metres per day and 9,090 cubic metres per year.
  • Point B: 3.8 cubic metres per hour; 91 cubic metres per day and 9,090 cubic metres per year.
  • Point C: 11.36 cubic metres an hour; 272.72 cubic metres per day and 27,272 cubic metres per year.

Between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for storage and subsequent spray irrigation.

The proposed abstraction lies in the North West Norfolk Catchment Abstraction Management Strategy reporting area.
