Details

We have received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following:

A list of the companies the department uses for IT consultancy services; and a breakdown of the day rates the department pays to each of those companies for those services.

We released the following information on 7 March 2012.

IT consultancy requirements are channelled via the appropriate Government Procurement Service (GPS) Consultancy framework. In the FY2011/12, the Home Department has contracted with 7 of these companies:

  • Capgemini
  • Deloitte
  • Detica
  • Ernst & Young
  • KPMG
  • PA Consulting
  • PwC

The Home Department’s commercial objectives require consultancy services to be commissioned in terms of defined output, not in terms of individuals assigned by the firms. Using GPS frameworks, the Department completes each requirement. The competition and any negotiation ensure that value for money is achieved. It does not, therefore, agree daily rates.
