Detail

We have received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following:

  1. The number of staff from Other Government Departments (OGD’s) who manned the border on the 30th November 2011 during a period of industrial action and;
  2. The number of Warranted Officers from outside of Border Force who also worked at the border on that day.

The following information was released on 23 December 2011:

On the 30 November 2011 we deployed just under 200 volunteers from a wide group of OGD’s. Of the additional HO staff deployed, we can confirm that at least 50 were (or had previously been) warranted Immigration Officers, although is likely that more may have been.
