We have a received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following:

  1. Which part or parts of IND are currently responsible for such applications made by persons who have no current leave to enter/remain? For example are those applications dealt with by an enforcement office?

  2. If more than one part of IND is responsible for dealing with such applications, how are the cases allocated between different parts of IND?

  3. When were the current arrangements for allocation of such applications introduced?

  4. What is the current target time for determining applications made under paragraph 276B(i)(b)?

  5. What types of data has IND collected since January 2005 on the time taken to determine applications made under paragraph 276 (I) (b)?

  6. How many applications have been made under paragraph 276B(i)(b) since April 2003, broken down by quarter?

  7. How many applications made under paragraph 276 B(i)(b) since April 2003 have been determined, broken down by quarter?

  8. In the case of applications determined under paragraph 276 B (I) (b) since January 2006, what was the mean period of receipt of the properly completed application form and the determination of the application, broken down by quarter? If IND has available data on different mean times for different types of case/parts of IND, please provide that data. If the mean times are not available, please provide other averages which are.

  9. According to the most recent data, how many applications made under paragraph 276B(i)(b) are pending a decision by IND? If only an estimate is available, please provide that. If only a minimum figure (ie there are more than X applications pending) is available, please provide that.

  10. If there is/ are dedicated teams dealing with applications made under paragraph 276B(i)(b) how many full- time equivalent caseworkers are in that/ those teams?
