We publish a range of statistics covering regulated qualifications, to help you understand the qualifications, examinations and assessment system in England.
We publish data and statistics on regulated GCSEs, AS and A levels, as well as national vocational and technical qualifications. Most of our statistics are based on data collected from awarding bodies, as outlined in our guidance on gathering information from awarding organisations. Survey data is also used to produce our statistics.
COVID-19 and the production of statistics
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, there have been and there may continue to be some changes to our regular statistical production.
Whilst we aim to publish our regular Official Statistics as planned, the impact of the coronavirus may affect the scope and historical comparability of some of our releases. Some statistical publications may need to be suspended in the short term or delayed.
Decisions are made on a case by case basis, taking into account what information and resources are currently available, and underpinned by the guidance given by the Office for Statistics Regulation.
We are committed to providing accurate and timely statistics, and will provide up-to-date information about changes to our schedule at GOV.UK. If you have any queries, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Publication dates for Ofqual’s upcoming statistical outputs, including Official and National Statistics, are announced on GOV.UK.
Statistics policy and procedures
Our statistical publications are produced and released in accordance with the Code of Practice for Statistics. You can also read about Ofqual’s policies and procedures for producing Official Statistics.
Data analytics and visualisations
Complementing our data and statistical releases, the Ofqual Analytics page provides a range of further analytics and interactive visualisations on the qualifications, examinations and assessment system in England. The data used for these analytics is also available for download.
