What's your favourite Lottery-funded project?

Nominations open for the 2011 National Lottery Awards

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The search is on to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects. Now in their eighth year, the National Lottery Awards recognise the incredible difference that Lottery-funded projects - both large and small - make to people, places and communities all across the UK.

Lottery players raise £28 million each week for projects all across the UK, and the Awards are a great way to highlight how that funding has changed the UK for the better.

You can nominate your local project that received lottery funding, for the chance for it to be  featured at a special Awards event broadcast across the UK. There is also a £2,000 cash prize to spend on your project if you win.

There are seven categories reflecting the main areas of Lottery funding:

  • Best Arts Project
  • Best Education Project
  • Best Environment Project
  • Best Health Project
  • Best Heritage Project
  • Best Sport Project
  • Best Voluntary/Charity Project

The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday 18 February.
