Barry-born Lee, aged 29, takes to the ring at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning to face Argentinean Jonathan Victor Barros.

The Secretary of State for Wales has previously invited Lee to the House of Commons. The fighter toured the Houses of Parliament and met Westminster’s Welsh MPs as part of his visit.

Mr Cairns said:

Lee is a fighter at the top of his form and I am sure Lee’s legion of fans will be staying up to see him in action.

It was a great pleasure to welcome Lee to the House of Commons – I’m not sure he found the knockabout on the floor of the House of Commons much different to a boxing ring!

I wish Lee the best of luck. Like our footballers, rugby players and athletes, he is a tremendous ambassador both for Wales and for sport.
