Welsh Government launches policy to deal with radioactive waste
RWM engagement activities will now include Wales, following policy announcement by the Welsh Government

Geological disposal is one of the UK’s largest ever environmental protection projects, which will provide a safe and secure long-term solution for the disposal of higher activity radioactive waste.
In support of the Welsh Government’s policy announcement, RWM has published information for communities including:
- Introduction to Geological Disposal
- Community Guidance - How we will work with communities in Wales)
- National Geological Screening for a GDF - This provides a high level summary of the geological information which is relevant to the safety of a GDF
In addition, we have also launched a consultation on how we will evaluate sites in Wales:
- Site Evaluation consultation - Details about how sites will be assessed
