Consultation description

Following today’s written statement by Lesley Griffiths, Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs, Welsh Government and the publication of ‘Geological Disposal of Higher Activity Radioactive Waste: Working with Communities’ by the Welsh Government, Radioactive Waste Management (RWM), a subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, will now widen the search for a willing host community and a suitable site to construct a Geological Disposal Facility (GDF).

In support of the Welsh Government’s policy announcement, please find attached the information for the Site Evaluation public consultation, which contains important details about how sites will be assessed in Wales. For further information, visit our website.

RWM has organised a series of meetings in Wales and England to give people more information about the consultation and answer any questions they may have.
