The remains were discovered in June by the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims’ Remains during a search and have now been positively identified as those of Seamus Wright and Kevin McKee, two of the Disappeared.

Ms Villiers said:

The identification of Seamus Wright and Kevin McKee’s remains will no doubt bring mixed emotions, and I want to extend my sympathies to both families at this time.

I would appeal to anyone with information which might assist in locating the remains of the other ‘Disappeared’ to come forward and provide it to the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims’ Remains, and help reduce the hurt being suffered by these families.
