Vacancy for an Investigations Support Officer
We are seeking an Investigations Support Officer to join our Southampton-based office.
Can you complete tasks to a high standard to tight deadlines? Are you experienced with Microsoft 365? Do you have knowledge and understanding of maritime terminology and the maritime industry? If so, we would love to hear from you!
Your responsibilities will include:

processing and triaging accident reports in line with the Merchant Shipping (Accident Reporting and Investigation) Regulations 2012

recording and categorising the severity of accidents in our database using internal data quality tools to meet objectives

providing logistical, operational and investigative support to the inspectorate and colleagues, including booking travel and accommodation

ensuring evidence exhibits are securely processed and managed
-
engaging with stakeholders such as witnesses, authorities, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, vessel operators and crew to assist the inspectorate with accident response decisions

monitoring emails, fielding emergency and general enquiry phone calls, managing post and fulfilling business support tasks as required

supporting the inspectorate and consultees throughout the consultation process

willingness to improve data handling and interpretation skills by completing a Data Technician Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent
