UK-South Africa Newton Fund celebrates cutting edge health research projects.

MRC South Africa worked with several UK funding partners to fund cutting edge research projects in Non Communicable Diseases, TB, and Anti-Microbial Resistance.

UK-South Africa Newton Fund celebrates health research funded by the UK-SA Newton Fund, focusing mainly on our TB Research which is set to change and save many South African lives.

UK-SA Newton Fund health research seeks to offer practical and well-rounded solutions to the country’s biggest health challenges, potentially drastically lowering the economic and social burdens these conditions have on the South African populace.

A total of 20 projects focussing on AMR, non-communicable diseases, TB, precision medicine and mental health projects were funded. The UK-South Africa Newton Fund is committed to addressing critical factors affecting development and to improve the lives of South Africans.
