UK congratulates Slovenia on the 10th anniversary of its EU membership
Charge d'Affaires Jamie Hilton congratulates Slovenia on the 10th anniversary of its accession to EU in 2004
Marking the occasion Mr Hilton said:
On behalf of the British Embassy in Ljubljana, I would like to congratulate Slovenia on marking 10 years of EU membership. As Prime Minister Cameron said when he met with Prime Minister Bratušek in London on Wednesday, Slovenia is a valuable partner for the UK in the EU.
Slovenia and the UK have a strong track record of working closely together on Enlargement, particularly to the Western Balkans, on stimulating growth and competitiveness through completion of the Single Market, and on ensuring that the EU remains at the forefront of tackling climate change.
